Wikipad: The mobile gaming tablet released in the UK.
Wikipad Inc' has released their mobile gaming tablet in the UK. The Wikipad runs Google’s Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean) and comes with 16 GB of memory which can be increased by an extra 32 GB of memory via its micro SD slot. The Wikipad is powered by a NVIDIA Tegra 3 quad-core mobile processor which has been optimised for cloud gaming and it also features a 12 core Nvidia GPU.
An accelerometer and gyroscope are also present to enhance your gaming experience which you will view from a 7 inches widescreen HD touch screen which has an aspect ratio of 16:10. You also get a 2 megapixel forward facing camera to take pictures of the jealous people sitting cross you on the train. The Wikipad also comes with GPS.
The detachable controller is connected to the tablet via micro USB and the manufacturers promise that the controller’ s design mirrors the best gamepads available and it’s control surfaces can fit all hand sizes. The Wikipad also comes with HDMI output to connect to your TV screen and is capable of pushing a 3D signal to 3D TVs.
So what about games? UK customers will gain access to over 700,000 PlayStation Mobile games from Sony Computer Entertainment Inc and Google’s Play store. You also get NVIDIA's free app, TegraZone which shows you the games optimized for the Wikipad’s Tegra processor. You can view a list of games which can be played using the controller here and titles include Assassin’s Creed, Grand Theft Auto 3 and Aliens vs Predators: Evolution.
