Mercedes-Benz G 500 4×4²
After the limited release of the absurdly expensive but rather desirable G63 AMG 6x6 (image posted below), comes a tamer version called, the Mercedes-Benz G 500 4×4².
Not much is known about the latest product derived from the iconic G-Class, but from the this official teaser photo, what is obvious is that like the G63 AMG 6x6, it has comically extended wheel arches, massive wheels shod in all terrain rubber and ground clearance that will enable it to embarrass any vehicle off-road. Yes I am talking to you Range Rover.
It will also most likely use the 4.0-litre 416bhp AMG V8 though that is yet to be confirmed. Right now, Mercedes refers to the G 500 4×4² as a “show car” but there is little doubt of it going into production soon after its unveiling at next months Geneva Motor Show. Most likely, it will have a starting price lower than the G63 AMG 6x6, which costs £370,000. Though I doubt money would be an issue for its target audience.
I like seeing mainstream manufacturers make extreme vehicles like this but what about you? Leave your comments about the Mercedes-Benz G 500 4×4² in the comment section below.
